"Oh dear-what a shambles!"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Anything else?

Taken into A@E by extremely caring ambulance crew following bleeding from the lungs I was then dumped in the waiting room, amonsgt drunks, obvious drug addicts being removed by police and other genuinley sick people.Waiting time 4 hours! Sent to xray, only to find nobody there-and told by a caring member of staff to"wait then until there is!" Finally after 7 hours told by a registrar that I possibly had TB or lung cancer and would need an urgent ct scan followed by appt to discuss,so would be contacted 2 days later on Monday.

Did not happen. After seeing my GP got scan date and appt-only for scan to get cancelled. Finally had scan two weeks later-and 2 weeks later still waiting for appointment that was urgent so still have no idea wether I am indeed suffering from either of those two things! This hospital is a joke-except it is not funny leaving people worrying for over 4 weeks-thanks to my GP who prescribed an antibiotic the bleeding has stopped,no thanks to the Medway at all!

I am very sorry to hear that during your recent visit to the Emergency Department, the standards were not satisfactory and certainly below those that we aim to deliver.

Please do get in touch with me so I can look into your care and obtain a few more details from you, so we can address the concerns you have raised.

You can contact me on 01634 830000 x3874.
