"mental health and A&E"

About: Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust / Inpatient mental health care

(as the patient),

Was taken to A&E UCH hospital when I was suicidal.

They put you in a room with camera watching you and dirty torn sofa with security guard outside. then they send an a&e nurse to take details, then an a&e doctor to take details, then a mental health liaison person to take details, then a psychiatrist to take details, then 2 people for a crisis team to take details.

All asking the same questions over and over and filling in forms. thats 6 people when you are suicidal. why dont they just send 1 or 2 mental health people and thats it. they were thinking of getting another 3 people to try and section me.

that would have been 9 different people asking me the same. questions. I stopped speaking in the end. I couldnt take it. I wanted to die and they just wanted to tick boxes. they sent me home. no medication. gave me a telephone number. why do they think it is ok to send 6 - 9 people when someone is very distressed. they make it worse. it took a lot for me to agree to go there. I wont go again.
