About: Royal Bolton Hospital

Anything else?

The actual experience at the hospital was excellent. Easy parking and was seen exactly on time. It was the rudeness of the ldoctor that did my surgery that I didn't like. Saing 'what's up' in a rude mannor whilst my eye is clamped and I'm in clear discomfort! Then after surgery that couldn't be fulfilled as nothing would come out, I was given eye ointment and told there you go. I had no clue what to do with it, I asked is it eye drops and was told its all in the leaflet there. On my way home I looked at the leaflet and the instructions for the ointment is to be used as described by the doctor, but there was no description by them so I had to call the hospital to find out. Great hospital let down by rude staff

I am very sorry that you have had such a poor experience while attending the Ophthalmic Department. I will discuss your concerns raised with our clinical staff regarding their attitude and rudeness, also stressing the requirement to explain all instructions regarding medication and aftercare verbally. I am unable to responding without individual details or dates you attended the department. If you would like me to investigate or discuss your concerns raised further please contact me on 01204 390245 or the PALS department on 01204 390193. Brenda Mason, Operational Business Manager, Head and Neck Services.
