"attending outpatients at Musgrove Park Hospital"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I recently attended an outpatient department. I was seen quickly and was fully informed by the surgeon.

I was asked to have an assessment for my operation. I was told where to go. I carried my own notes to the assessment.

I was asked to sit in a waiting room and complete a form, The form asked many questions.

The waiting room was very hot, quite unbearable in fact. It was very busy, I had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. The nurse was apologetic. The assessment was very thorough and I felt fully informed when I left. I was able to ask questions and did not feel rushed. The assessment took less time than the wait. If I had been aware of the wait I would have asked to come back another time.

All departments were very clean.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback about your experience at Musgrove Park Hospital which is really important to us. I am pleased to hear that you felt fully informed both by your surgeon and the nurse who carried out your assessment but I am sorry to hear about the wait you experienced for the assessment. We really appreciate that you took the time to write and I will pass on your comment to the manager of the department. Lucille Hoose, PALS Lead
