Yesterday I arrived at the reception desk and requested directions to Patient Affairs. I was told very rudely that I couldn't go there by a male receptionist. A female receptionist then took over from him and asked if I had an appointment and what time. I replied that I did and told her the time, to which she replied I was too early and I should go away and come back at the right time (I was about 15 minutes early as I had allowed parking time which I did not need). Bearing in mind that Patient Affairs deals with the issuing of death certificates and I had come to collect my father's who had died the day before I consider their attitude uncaring and unkind. I was distressed at losing my father and their unpleasant attitude distressed me further.
May I suggest these staff have training in "customer care"!!
