"Thanks for vitrectomy"

About: Bristol Eye Hospital

Anything else?

I have been completely delighted by the repair to my torn retina made by my consultant and his team. I first came to the Bristol Eye Hospital almost twenty years ago when another consultant repaired the retina of my left eye. On both occasions I felt completely secure in the knowledge that I was being given the best possible treatment by very caring and professional staff. I can see how the technology has improved over the years and an unexpected bonus was some further work done on my left eye. Work done by the National Health on my eyes has resulted in my having better sight at nearly sixty than at any previous period of my life. The closeness of the hospital to St James's Priory and its peaceful and prayerful ambience was an extra blessing.

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment on NHS Choices and we are very pleased to hear about your good experience at the Ophthalmology Department – we will pass this on to the team.
