"The care I received was first class"

About: Stafford Hospital / Accident and emergency Stafford Hospital / Vascular surgery

(as the patient),

I had the unfortunate circumstance of being referred from the out of hours GP Service next door to Stafford A&E on a Saturday night in mid February. In view of recent publications like many I had some trepidation.

But finding out I was quite ill, the prompt attention, treatment and care I received from Dr Nakash (A&E Consultant) and his whole team, and that from Mr Khan and his surgical team along with all of the ward staff on Surgical Annex attached to ward 6 & 7 for my six day stay was first class.

Professional, competent, caring and patient focused was the way I could describe it. My wife who has over 20 years experience as a midwife and ward sister totally agrees.

Would I go back? Yes, most definitely, keep re-building your reputation.

Response from Head of Patient Experience, Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust

Dear "Calotherm"

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I am delighted that your recent experience of our hospital was so positive. I feel very proud of the services that we provide and of our staff who work extremely hard to consistently provide high standards of care. I know that staff morale is raised by comments like yours and I would like to thank you for taking the time to write and tell me of your experience. I have passed on your thanks to all those involved.

Kind Regards

Angela Grocott
