(as a parent/guardian),

I rang the school nurses to arrange a hearing test for my daughter- the very next day it had been arranged, done, and the outcome told to me - fantastic service by the school nursing team in North Huddersfield.

Hi NN Ging.Thank you for your posting on Patient Opinion which has been shared with Angela Ladocha, School Nurse Team Leader. She would like to issue the following response;

‘Thank you very much for the positive feedback for Huddersfield North School Nurses! Although we are not always in a position to complete the hearing test in school as quickly as you experienced, we aim to prioritise these as best we can as hearing concerns with children can impact on their education. It is likely in this instance that the member of the team had already planned to go into the school where your child attends and as a result was able to attend to your concern so swiftly. Hearing screen tests are carried out in school by our School Nurse Assistants who are fully trained in this area of practice and will refer on to other services when a problem is detected from the screening. I have passed on your comments to the team.
