"Bridging the Gap/ADS"

(as a service user),

I was saddened and dismayed by the negative views in a posting about the Bridging the gap course in trafford. I completed the BTG course and found it informative, challenging and relevant to my needs and expectations. My knowledge, skills and confiedence were improved, I found the instructor both knowledgable approachable. at the start of the course we were given the instructors mobile number so we could have contact with any problems or questions,

When on a course I expect to work hard and put the hours myself, not be spoon fed. It was also stressed on the very first day that voluntering placements were possible but not assured. BTG students formed a recovery group RUTRAPPED which is now TARGET a group I am a member of and and helped by week by week. Some students of BTG have found paid work in the recovery services (a triumph for BTG) many others are working in voluntary services and many more attend the growing group TARGET who get support, advice and friendship, something that they (and me) would have never had the opportunity had I not completed BTG. I feel that nothing in life is handed out on a plate, you have to work hard, ask for help when offered and be thankful of the help and opportunities you have had the priveledge to be a part of
