"Cleanliness on the wards"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General surgery

(as a relative),

My husband is a patient on Ward E15.

I have visited 3 times in the last 5 days and only today have dirty marks on the floor in the centre of the ward and around my husbands bed been cleaned off with a mop. Some areas were not cleaned and my offer to move out of the way was refused.

Public toilets were also very dirty and large residue/splatter marks on the floor remained after a few days.

As ward sister for E15, I am concerned to read that you feel standards of cleanliness on the ward were not as they should have been during your husband’s stay.

I would welcome an opportunity to meet with you to discuss further. If you wish to take me up on this, you can contact me directly on 0115 924 9924 ext 69015.

Hannah Docherty – Sister for E15

Thank you Hannah. I feel reassured that this is not the norm and able to raise concerns directly on the ward should I wish to in future.
