I was in East Surrey Hospital January 2013 for a kidney infection. I was very weak and unwell.
One night I was told at 9pm that I would be moving wards, and that I had 30 minutes to pack all of my things. I was very shocked when I was told but I did as asked.
I sat waiting and about 10pm I asked what was happening and was told the porter was on his way, but they were looking for the keys to the unlock the ward. The strange thing was the bed next to me was empty!
I asked about the medication I should have taken and was told I could not have it because one of them them would make me sleep. Also I could not get into bed because it was needed for a new patient. I sad cold, tired, vulnerable and very poorly.
I sat waiting until 11:15pm in the chair next to my bed when a nurse came and told me I wouldn't be moving after all and I could get into bed. I was distraught by this stage, and shocked that this had happened especially at night. The other issue I had that I was never referred to by my name just the ward and bed number.
