"Disgusting treatment of elderly family"

On writing this review on 23rd feb, my dad has been in A&E observation room since 10am the day before. Yes, 36 hours after getting there. They wanted to send him home after a bad fall after not eating for over 5 weeks and said as long as he could use a zimmer frame he can go. Not worried about the real problem that malnutrion could be casuing him to fall several times over the past few weeks and get several infections. After 24 hours of looking at dirty bedding piled on new bedding and having to ask for some clean sheets as i found him in the ward shivering, they say they dont know what is happening with him. The family have spent most of today asking what is going on but still no answers. At 11 pm tonight they still have not moved him as they say he is comfortable. But all others in the observation room, not sure why its called that as they have not done observations on him just stuck him in the corner. all others have moved. Possibly the 6th rudest nurse said this evening that we should not expect to have him moved after putting in the request half an hour ago. She clearly had to be corrected that he has been there for 36 hoursand nothing done. If it was not for a kind doctor after 24 hours they finally done his xray to his head and face which he fell on and clearly is cut. they had said they xryaed his chest as he had an infection several weeks ago. they also finally gave him a drip to rehydrate him, after it was asked fro yesterday.FAmily had to tell them it wasnt working because no one again was checking him. was told today he had eaten all his meals. thats when the penny dropped because he cant even pick up a cup he is so weak let alone fed himself 3 meals. I can see a very long complaint and letter going direct to the managers at West Middx. The place should have clearly lost its major hospital status if it treats the elderly and all others like this. I cant wait to read his patient file to see what they have written down. Cant wait to show them the pictures of how dirty it was with discarded prescribed patient stuff in the toilets, and the video of all the nurses sitting laughing and joking and texting on their phones whilst not doing the basics with the patients. If this is what they do when family are with patients I cant begin to imagine what they dont do when your not there. Hopefully by tommorrow 48 hours we will see if this continues and if they have finally admitted him to a ward and done what hospitals are supposed to do like care for patients. It shows you need to go there and shout and be abusive to get some attention not help your family and be quiet.Disgusting is all I can say and if the nurses had any morals I hope they are pleased with the service they have given over the past 36 hours
