Nine months, ago after a routine mammogram, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
After a full mastectomy in Wigan Infirmary in July 2012, I am now just coming to the end of 6 months chemotherapy - again at Wigan Infirmary - before continuing treatment with three weeks radiotherapy.
I would like to say that my treatment, right through from tests, diagnosis, surgery and chemotherapy has been, without exception, excellent. At each stage I have been treated with professionalism, care and dignity, and have been fully informed about each step in my care.
I would particularly like to commend the work of the breast care team and phlebotomists at the Linacre Centre and, over the last six months the care, concern and kindness of everyone on the Cancer Care Ward at Wigan Infirmary.
My husband and I would like to say thank you to all who have been involved in my care.
"Grateful for breast cancer care in Wigan"
