"Excellent response to my childs RTC injuries"

About: Tameside General Hospital

Anything else?

The A&E, Children’s Ward and Paramedics that dealt with my 11 year old daughter were amazing. I couldn’t have asked for better care at a very traumatic and distressful time for me and my family.

The crash team that did the initial assessment while being incredibly thorough in assessing my younger daughter were also sensitive to me, my elder daughter and my mother. While representing a wide range of departments and specialism’s, they worked together like a highly polished unit, ensuring that everything was covered without any signs of stress or conflict.

This caring professional attitude was carried through to the CT Suite, the x ray department as well as the Children’s Ward. They all dealt with my daughter as a person, explaining what was happening in language she understood and with the sensitivity a panicked father greatly appreciated.

While all the staff were outstanding, a special mention for the nurse whose truly appalling jokes were the perfect medicine.

Finally, as we live in Essex, the continuing care will be at our local hospital and the documentation provided for the transfer has been excellent.

All that is left is for me to say a great big thank you to every member of the team at Tameside General Hospital who made a horrific incident bearable.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your experience on the NHS Choices website.

It’s super to read that your care and treatment was excellent at Tameside Hospital and clearly what we aspire to for each and every patient.

I will make sure the teams are made aware of your kind words.

Thank you for choosing Tameside General Hospital as your hospital of choice.

Kind regards

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
