My daughter has visisted twice in the last 2 days. The first time nhs direct called an ambulance to take her to a and e where after 4 hours of asking the wrong questions she was sent home with the wrong diagnosis and still in a lot of pain. Her gp referred her the following day to the emercency assessment ward. She was seen quickly to have bloods taken and then left in the waiting area for over 3 hours. Also in the waiting area was an elderly man with his daughter who had been there over 2 and a half hours because the staff forgot he was there even though there was an empty bed waiting for him. Last time my daughter was in this unit 4 years ago she was left in a bed for 10 hours waiting to see a consultant who never turned up. We walked out because the staff kept fobbing us off and fortunately my daughter got to see a consultant privately.
