Anything else?
My Mum had a cataract operation yesterday in the day case unit.
She was treated very badly by the doctor, who didn't' acknowledge her as a person at all. My Mum felt like a "thing", and was at one point "told off" by the doctor in an aggressive way. She was treated roughly, without any care or compassion. When the procedure was finished, the doctor just walked out of the room. The nurse and anaesthetist appeared embarrassed to my Mum, and she was then treated by the nurse very sympathetically. My Mum was upset, scared and shaky.
What appalling care, particularly after the Mid Staffordshire report. We shouldn't accept this standard of care and customer service any more. The Trust needs to challenge and weed out staff who behave in this way.
"Treated with no respect by an aggressive doctor"
