"Called to enquire about referral - very very rude..."

About: St Pancras Hospital

Anything else?

I called this hospital to enquire about a choose and book referral. I asked why I had had a referral letter despite not being called and the woman insisted that they had called me and that it doesn't show up as a missed call because the number is witheld which is quite simply ridiculous. It should show as a private number. There was no apology for the confusion; the woman was patronising and spoke over me.

At one point I was asked "in future, can we leave answerphone messages for you?" I said that that would be okay, and was replied to with "thank you, bye." I tried to say "excuse me" because I still had no idea what the referral was about or what the appointment was to do with, but she had already put the phone down. Incredibly rude, patronising and unnecessary.
