I needed to be referred to another practice for a post-cancer follow-up check. I contacted my cardiologist's secretary, who took three months (despite my almost weekly phone calls/voicemails) to figure out that in fact I need to speak to a different doctor to be referred. Had she bothered to put in a little time and effort I would have had the follow-up care I require by now!
