I've recently accessed the wellbeing services of Six Degrees Social Enterprise in Salford, via my GP service.
I had been suffering massive panic attacks at work over a 6 month period and as part of my recovery plan, it was felt that some listening therapy would be beneficial.
Over 7 sessions, spread across around a three month period, we discussed a lot with regards to my situation, past, present and future, and through a lot of positive explanation and reinforcement I feel that I have come through this challenge with a brand new mind-set and am empowered to deal with the anxiety head on should panic attacks become an issue for me again in the near future. Many of my issues surrounding the anxiety have now melted away in the face of the cold-hard facts, and I've learnt not to let myself get caught up in an attack, and to accept them rather than fight and get worked up about them. Many of the associated symptoms that I was having have since resolved themselves too as a result of these sessions, and the fantastic resources that I have been able to access via the service. I've also been referred on to a Mindfulness Meditation course to help to teach me skills to manage my anxiety in the longterm.
