"Mum died from lung cancer she didn't know she had!"

Anything else?

My mum passed away at PRU in Dec 2012. She died from lung cancer that had spread to her brain. She was only told she had the lung cancer 7 weeks prior to dying even though she had been in the PRU in July for a masectomy! After her masectomy she was told she was OK. No chest x ray was taken obviously or they would have seen the lung cancer, which had not spread from the breast! My mum was 69 yrs old and I would like to know why someone wouldn't be checked out more thouroughly after a masectomy? The nurses in the chartwell unit were very caring and looked after my mum but it was too late for her. Just shocking to me that someone can be so ill and not know and how DRs don't know either. Just want to add that at no point did my mum have a cough either. So, the NHS tv ads telling people to check out a cough are rubbish. You could be dying of lung cancer with no cough!
