I had waited months and months for my first neurology appointment. When i finally went I was due to be seen at 9 and therefore arrived 10 minutes early as I thought being the first appointment of the day surgery couldn't be running late. How wrong could I have been. Not only was I kept waiting till the neurologist arrived but I was also told that their policy was to double book people and therefore I wouldn't be seen till 9.40 because the person before me had arrived 2 mins before I had. Disgraceful when you consider that if I had arrived 40 mins late I would probably not have been seen. Well the neurologistr didn't even arrive until 9.10 which meant that I wasn't seen until 10am. I was angry at this because I had to take time off work and had to go straight into work after my appointment. The actual appointment was good and I was very impressed with the neurologist themself who I felt was obviously very knowledgable in their field. I was given tests and told to come back in 6 months or just before if the tests came back. When I went outside to make the appointment i was asked to leave the form for the people on reception to send my appointment. To be helpful and save some time I said yes. Big mistake. I asked for an early appointment no later then 10am. What I have been given is 11.25 on a tuesday which is possibly the most inconvienient time I could have been give all week. When i rang up to swap it or change it I was told that this was not possible and that the clinic only ran till 11.25. I've I have almost waited my 6 months and am in quite a bit of pain, I think waiting 6 months between appointments is ridiculous, i'll never get my problem sorted out at this rate. I would also like to know if when I turn up to this appointment I will have been double booked again. The Neurologist is fantastic and I was very happy with my treatment while in the room however the waiting times between appointments and time between appointments is abismal.
