"Hospital cancelled my appointment 3hrs before"

I had an appointment at 13.00hrs at the injection clinic (MCAS).

At 10.00am on the same day as my appointment it was cancelled as the person doing my injection phoned in sick. I had booked five days leave off my job for this appointment, as I was advised I could not drive for five days.

The receptionist said there was another appointment in two weeks time on the computer but she could not book it and for my to go home and phone up at 12.30 and book it? Even though she could.

I phoned and spoke to a lady who was helpful. I asked if I could be put in the clinic for the 20th but no as its full. Due to the situation and the pain I am in I think I could have been seen.

I feel disgusted I have been left for another two weeks in pain and the way I was informed. And the sign for the patients is "Give the staff 24hrs notice if you wish to cancel your appointment" What a joke.
