Having been referred by my GP as an urgent case, I was admitted to Simpson ward of the Nottingham City hospital. I was seen fairly quickly upon arrival at the hospital, but was then left for several hours before a doctor came and apologised for the delay and asked if I would wait another couple of hours as he was very busy. I was finally attended to about 8 hours after I arrived.
My concern was not the long delay before being seen, but rather the fact that I was not told sooner exactly what was happening.
