"Care of my Mother"

About: Colchester General Hospital

Anything else?

As an inpatient for appoximatly 6 weeks, we were lucky to get my Mother home, There was a total lack of communication between doctor and nursing staff, What the Dr told us would happen the Nursing staff seemed to either not know about or implemented. My mother was often left dirty and unchanged. It was only the fact that as a family we had a family member present from early morning to late a night that she was fed and cared for and it seemed that every care she received was the result of what seemed like a battle. one morning we were late and she had had no breakfast, no one had asked her if she had wanted it, and if it had been presented and left she was unable to feed herself or even pick up her cup to drink. i would very often get there in the early morning and find a cup of tea just left for her and she was unable to lift it to be able to drink it.

We felt very let down by the hospital and the care that my mother received.

I apologise you’ve not had a good patient experience. Please contact me, so we can try to put things right for the future.
