At Tameside Hospital. I visited today and sat with my aunt as she was given 2 paracetamol tablets to bring down her temp. As she has been vomiting for 3 weeks and cannot eat she struggled to swallow them and brought them back immediately.
She was given soluble tablets in a glass of water. She can't drink more than a sip at a time. She told me they bring her 9 pills every morning and was very distressed at how hard it was for her to swallow them. She then vomits.
I asked if they could change the way she takes her medication and they said yes when the pharmacy opens. Why did I have to suggest this? Is this not the job of the health professionals?
The entire floor of the Charlesworth Building seems to smell dreadful. The nurse did not know how to give her oxygen and after 15 mins trying had to get support. I despair.
