"Cardiac care"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

In mid November 2012, I was admitted to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital for 2 stents to be fitted to my LAD Artery due to an arterial collapse..... Everything went to plan with no complications..... I was home by 6pm.

So I start my recovery and was back at work within 2 weeks....

So this week I had to attend a cardiac rehab assessment.... I thought everything was going very well..... But I was wrong... I had experienced quite a bit of chest pain and I had been back to my GP's regarding this only to be told " It's quite normal "

It wasn't. I had a blood clot in the same artery and my cardiac team picked this up instantly...... I was admitted to the AMU unit and after 36 hours of outstanding care from the doctors and nursing staff I was allowed home.

All I can say is thank you so much to all the AMU and CIU staff at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital..... You have saved my life twice in 3 months.
