"Attendance at Torbay Hospital A & E"

About: Torbay Hospital

Anything else?

On Sunday 23rd December 2012, I had an accident while riding a quad-bike which resulted in cuts and bruising to my face and a bad cut on my hand. I attended the A & E department of Torbay Hospital. I cannot speak highly enough about the care I received. Everyone involved, (nurses, doctor, radiologist, porter, receptionist, consultant) were caring, polite, considerate, thorough and helpful. They cleaned up and stitched up the cuts, gave me a tetanus injection and sent me for an x-ray to check that I had not cracked any bones in my face. They allowed some of my family to stay with me and even made us some coffee! I am 80 years old, by the way. Everyone who dealt with me was great. Thank you all very much.

Dear Mr Marples,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your recent experience in our A&E department. We are really pleased to hear that it was such a positive one and we will certainly forward your comments to the staff concerned. It was good to know also that you have not done too much damage and we wish you a speedy recovery. Thank you again for taking the time to comment.
