"reluctant to visit the a &e department again"

About: Salford Royal

Anything else?

I made a call to the out of hrs GP on Sunday evening 03/02/2013 complaining of vomiting a couple of times. I was weak and dizzy and I was 25+4 weeks pregnant at that time. I was told to come to the a&e. I took a taxi down. There I was examined, investigations were done, and the doctor came back to give me IV cyclizine. I told them that I was weak and had lost so much fluid. I couldn't hold anything down. They replied that my results will show if I am dehydrated. Few minutes after they left, I started vomiting again. A nurse on the corridor came to assist me. I heard her tell a fellow nurse that I had vomited so much and asked if I had been seen. The doctor later came back, said my blood tests were fine and discharged me on some medications. I suggested to them that I needed IV fluids but they said not everyone vomiting needs it. On my way to the waiting area to use the taxi freephone, everywhere suddenly was going black, I struggled to a door on d corridor and saw some policemen but b4 I could talk to them,I passed out. They helped me back on a wheel chair and I was transfered to st Marys where I was given IV fluids and I was okay the next day. I was lucky my baby was not affected but what if I couldn't make it to that door or if no body was there? I lost a pregnancy last year Feb at 34 weeks and I am sad I was exposed to such risk at this hospital. I wouldn't suggest the a&e of salford royal hospital to anyone.
