"In A&E for 12 Hours"

About: Chase Farm Hospital

Anything else?

We were waiting in A&E for at least 2-3 hours before someone saw us. We then had to wait in the medical assessment unit for another 9-10 hours before they got us a bed which was in Barnet. It would have apparently taken another 10-12 hrs to get a bed at Chase Farm so we had to take it. The 80 year old man opposite waited nearly 21 hrs before they go him a bed...

Also we saw a cockroach on the floor and when we went and advised the reception we were advised that this was normal and it was not unusual in hospitals.. !!!

As an organisation we are committed from learning from specific issues and from any mistakes we have made. Hearing about where we can do better helps us to pinpoint where exactly to make improvements to the service we provide.

The Trust apologies for the poor experience that you had in our emergency department and your comments have been passed to the manager for their attention
