"No leadership"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

I found a lack of leadership on the ward. You never knew who was in charge and all staff were very chummy. There was one nurse to 10 patients. I felt I had to be with my husband all day to ensure that he got a drink and something to eat. on one occasion I had to prevent a nurse giving my husband the wrong medication . I was glad to get my husband home where he was treated with care and compassion by the local hospice staff instead of a project by the doctors

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments about your husband’s stay at Queen’s Hospital.

I was concerned to read about your experience and would appreciate the opportunity of looking into the points you have raised. It would be useful if you could provide some more information to enable an investigation to take place.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further please contact a member of the Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS) on 01708 435454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk who will be happy to help.

Yours sincerely,

Gary Etheridge

Deputy Director of Nursing
