"My satisfactory eye test at Moorfields (Retinitis..."

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

Anything else?

My experience at Moorfields was very good. I was referred to see a consultant and had some tests done at the Mile End branch initially. The tests were very involved and I had to concentrate a lot, the person that I saw was a little tetchy commenting that I needed to keep my head in a certain position which was uncomfortable. I was told more than once that if the tests were not accurate because of moving it would have to be done all again. After the tests I waited a couple of months and got a referral to the City Branch.

The experience at the City branch was much better. The building is clean, spacious and easy to find ones way around. You sit in a waiting room which was not overcrowded when I was there. They had good facilities at the hospital like a cafeteria etc which helped because the last thing you want to do if you are waiting a long time is just sit.

I was seen quite quickly, the tests did take a long time but they were very thorough and the technician was very patient and explained everything to me and answered all my questions.

After they had done all the tests I waited for the results. The Consultant came to see me and explained the diagnosis to me. Although a bit technical I recorded the information as I may not have remembered it all.

Overall I was very pleased with the service I got at Moorfields
