About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

Anything else?

After nearly 20 years living with chronic nerve pain following back surgery for a ruptured lumbar disc and unsuccessful attempts at intervention, it was comforting to meet a doctor who really understands what I have been suffering. His physical examination was thorough and he was able clearly to explain the results and probable causes. His whole approach was encouraging, caring, realistic and practical. He wrote a detailed letter summarising the history, prognosis and possible treatments such that my GP said it was one of the most informative reports she had seen.

He has started a series of injections to help, prescribed a new regime of pain killers and arranged a referral to a consultant specialising in spinal cord stimulation. He will continue to see me to monitor my progress.
