"Rude and un-welcoming staff. Made to feel an..."

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Anything else?

Staff rude, not very friendly or sympathetic to my needs.

Asked to put on a dirty 'blood stained' gown which I refused to wear. Cubicle unclean with dry blood stain on floor.

Looked as though the floor had not been cleaned in a while.

I would be disgraced if that was my department to manage. Disgusting!

Seen pubs that are cleaner than this hospital.

Had several tests done, but none of the results were given to me. I was fobbed off by the female doctor who said that several things had flagged up in the tests carried out, but they were not of any concern to them. I had to see my GP in order to get an explanation.

Basically, they had better things to do with their time. I was left just as puzzled as when I arrived there after fainting from a panic attack.

They hadn't even passed on the information to my GP in order for her to see the results. What exactly was the point of doing them if neither myself or my GP was informed of the outcome?

I would never attend this hospital again, unless really necessary.

Nurses are meant to be kind & caring and the people that I met were certainly not that.

On leaving, several staff were all congregated at the A & E dept sat on their backsides doing nothing.....so why aren't they pitching in with cleaning and keeping their department hygienic, when they have quieter times???

I guess it's just not important to have cleaning standards in place anymore, so no wonder there are so many hospital borne viruses & germs around.

Bring back the ward Matrons like in the good old days.

The NHS cannot blame lack of staff for the non-existent cleaning standards I'm afraid!

Staff need to pull their weight and earn the fortune that they are paid in wages.

Bring back performance related pay-then they would soon pull their fingers out!
