I attended the Day Surgery Unit yesterday for a excision of a tumour on my scalp. I was very anxious about the procedure being carried out, not least because it would be carried out under a local anaesthetic. Fear of the unknown doubles anxiety but I really need not have worried because from the time I and my partner walked through the door until we left the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, from the lady on reception to the plastic surgeon and his colleagues who carried out the procedure. I really cannot speak highly enough of the plastics team who, knowing my fears about having to have a skin graft and my head shaved, went out of their way to make sure they took as little of my hair as possible in order to attend to the tumour, and the bonus was not having to have a skin graft after all because of the expertise of the team.

I had heard that the QVH was a Centre of Excellence, now I can absolutely endorse that claim 100%. Thank you so much!
