I took my friend into the city hospital on a friday night after she injured her hand. The woman on reception was uncooperative and rude. She didn't aknowledge us for at least 2-3minutes then told us to wait a "minute". After this dispickable service we waited for over 2 hours the waiting room was quiet but still people who had arrived after us where being seen. Even one man who was cuffed and brought in by the police got priority over us. The waiting room is extremly dirty with blood stained tissues all over the floor and general filth. It angers me to think that I work to pay tax to pay for a terrible service. The woman on reception, all she had to do was her job properly and at least put a smile of her sour face. I will never return to this hospital.

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry that you did not have a good experience at the A&E department. The department is a busy one and does have to see patients in order of clinical urgency but we ask our staff to explain this as clearly as possible and we certainly expect staff to be polite and friendly. We also have regular monitoring of cleaning standards in all departments so it is disappointing to hear that it was dirty. I have passed your comment on to the department.
