"Delay in urgent scan for blood clot"

About: University Hospital Lewisham / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I came on Saturday at the A&e for my arm. I had bruised all over my arm and it was killing me when somebody touch it.

They then diagnosed a blood clot. Because it was late Saturday they told me that I will have my arm scan on Sunday, they then said Monday because they don't work Sunday.

Now today Monday they said Tuesday. I feel so distressed. I feel like nobody cares about us. The blood clot could travel somewhere else.

I had to tell them that I didn't want to have an xray because I was pregnant. One of the doctors said it was fine to have xray when you pregnant, and another said no, very bad for the baby.

I feel so frustrated... I spoke to my brother in law who is a surgeon in France. He said that I cannot believe that. That they should do the scan as soon as possible to localise the blood clot. Voila, we are Monday and I am still waiting to have a ultrasound scan of the arm.
