Anything else?
Attended Royal Free A and E on Tuesday 22/1/13 at 8pm with my 11 year old son who (as it turns out) had a hairline fracture n his arm after slipping in the snow.
I expected on attending that I would be there for hours, staff would be curt and overall it would not be a good experience - I was wrong.
We arrived around 8.10pm and progressed to register, see a pediatric nurse, have an xray, meet with the doctor who fully explained the injury and the care we now needed to take. Next steps were for the nurse to fit a splint and then finally we made a follow up appointment. And we were out the door at 10.50pm.
That was a lot of steps to cover and the hospital should be proud at how each step was co-ordinated between the departments, the staff were very calm, courteous and professional with us and each other. They kindly took time to explain each step and what was being done, and what would happen next. And the department looked busy !
Overall, I am still amazed at how good the care and service was. Thank you for looking after my son.
