I wanted to tell my story about trying to get one to one help for my depression which has been triggered regularly throughout my life. I have had this sort of counseling at other times and have found it beneficial. I find my condition crippling at times. I put in a complaint about a year ago and got a good response letter and was invited in to discuss the situation at St Johns and have also been assessed at the Brooker Centre. I have been told that I am on the waiting list for 2 Courses of treatment. It just feels like I have been told I have to get on with it and wait. I am finding the situation very frustrating and feel powerless to do anything 2 and a half years after asking for help that I know I need. I am asking for the help I've had before but its not there. I've been told I'm not a serious enough case and I feel its unfair the way services have gone. People I have dealt with have been very nice but it feels like their hands are tied.
My local Mind (Halton) Centre has been a boon people have been caring and service users there understand and help. Its been a respite to go somewhere where people understand.
"How long is a wait?"
