"No communication and rather disorganised"

Whilst I can say the individual nurses on the whole did an excellent job there were some disturbing incidents. My daughter was prescribed ibrufen by a Dr (who didnt bother to check her notes) but she is on steroids so taking ibrufen would cause stomach bleeding. The hospital had no gluten free products (bread, cakes, crackers) at all on their patient menu- also they did not have soya or dairy free milk substitutes- surely my daughter is not the only patient ever to be in the hospital and be intolerant to gluten and dairy. If the menu can cope with halal and vegetarian why not intolerances. Surely, in this day and age, these products are easy to buy and store- I know I keep gluten free bread at home. Also, nurses asleep on the night shift - ward 11- this doesnt inspire confidence and without a doubt reflects badly on the nurses who are hard working and conscientious. In addition, medicine from pharmacy went missing so had to wait an additional 24 hrs til more arrived. Some nurses did not respect my daughter's privacy barging into her room when she was using her commode- totally embarrassing for a young woman to have to endure. It took 5 days for my daughter to be given a bed on a specialist ward (ward 11) rather than on ward 3 a general ward. Most nurses, sisters and in particular matron on ward 3 were excellent and cared well for my daughter but I do feel the things I have mentioned reflect badly on the hospital and should be addressed as a matter of some urgency.
