"The Mermaid Centre"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Anything else?

I received a call back on my first ever mammogram and was obviously a little nervous. On arrival I was offered tea and biscuits by a very friendly volunteer. My wait was minimal and I was taken through for a further mammogram. The member of staff was extremely helpful and kind and a slightly uncomfortable procedure was dealt with efficiently and even some humour. Every step was explained to me and I was made fully aware of which area they were investigating. This was followed by an examination and scan by a very friendly doctor who greeted me warmly. Again, I was informed of what was happening at every stage. Fortunately, there was nothing seriously wrong and the doctor carried out a minor procedure there and then. I would recommend all women called for a mammogram to attend this clinic where you will be treated with kindness and dignity. Thank-you to the lovely staff who made a worrying day much more bearable.
