"Didn't get much from the gender scan we paid for"

About: Thornbury Hospital (Sheffield)

(as the patient),

I paid 50 pound for my gender scan, but when I booked it I explained we weren't sure on my dates, so I could be 14 weeks or 16 weeks.

So they said ok, you can still have scan, if we can't see much the consultant will either say pay 50 pound and come back for a free scan, or leave it today and pay 50 pound on the next visit.

Well when I got there, I was in the room less than five mins. They didn't tell me if baby was ok or show me much, and said sorry, can't see anything - and still charged me 50 pound for that, and didn't offer me another free scan.

Shocking for a private hospital.

I’m sorry to hear that this patient is unhappy with the service received, and if they would like to contact me directly I shall endeavour to deal with this matter.

Kindest regards, David R Mills Executive Director, BMI Thornbury Hospital
