I was referred for a biopsy at Stafford hospital diagnostic clinic.
The doctor I saw came across as unsympathetic to my condition. After 2 weeks I still hadn't received any diagnosis of my condition. Without a diagnosis no treatment had been prescribed and after 4 months of discomfort I was anxious to know what the problem was.
I had to ring the hospital. I was told that the results were on the doctor's desk awaiting dictation. I needed a prescription for an ointment to start treatment of the condition which my GP could prescribe on receipt of the results.
I rang my GP and fortunately he could write the prescription from the information I had been given. However I am not happy that this discomfort I am experiencing has been trivialised by the diagnostic clinic.
I wonder if the results had been more sinister if it would have received faster action or if treatment would have been delayed?
