"Wonderful Service!"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I have had chronic long term pain, and have been trying various things to cope over the years, and so asked to be referred to this clinic. I expected to be told that I had to get on with it, and take more and more painkillers etc, and to my delight I saw a wonderful consultant - was offered a kind, listening ear, empathy, sympathy but most importantly, several ways of tackling my pain that did not mean taking hundreds of drugs as drugs were no longer working. I was offered counselling to assist with strategies, and accupuncture, and am now in the process of being self taught this, which is transforming my pain management.

All the staff I met were friendly, polite, and extremely helpful, so thankyou to all in the Pain Management department, and those at the Medical Psychology team too.
