"very appaling"

Anything else?

My mother was in alot of pain with her stomach. My father took her to A&E and she was just given medication she even went the second day and still medication was given.

Her pain was even worse and I had to take her to A&E again! We waited for someone to see her and then was told to go to the Gynecology department. We went there and they told us to go back to A&E! Three times we were going up and down when eventually the Gynecological doctor came and said that my mother was bad and should have been treated earlier? She had to be taken to Queen Mary's as there were no beds which was possibly the best decision he had made!

I must say i was deeply appalled at the level of care and respect given! It's a doctors and nurses job to look after people and this is the care we get!

This hospital needs to re-train their staff and show them how to respect people! The same thing happened to my friends mother when she hurt her back and my younger went today and was spoken to very rudely just because he had a foot infection he was worried about.

My mother went earlier for these pains and the doctor told her to go home and call your GP if there is a problem!

If you don't like your job then tough! Don't be a nurse or a doctor!

I am very sorry for your and your mother's poor experience at the Trust. I hope that her problem was resolved and her treatment improved. We expect our staff to show courtesy to patients and to empathise with them, and there is never an excuse for rudeness. If you have not done so already, you may want to contact our PALs department who can support you in making a complaint which will enable us to investigate her treatment. You can contact them on Tel: 020 8836 4592 Email: pals.qeht@nhs.net

Although not relevant to your mother, who needed hospital treatment, patients do unnecessarily attend A&E with problems which would be better addressed by their GP or other out-of-hospital services. Our staff will in those cases advise these patients that A&E is not the most appropriate place for them. Again, there is absolutely no excuse for rudeness and we expect our staff to treat all patients with respect. If in doubt you can contact NHS direct at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk or via telephone 0845 4647
