Anything else?
After a stay of about 5 months in Milford a very good friend of mine recently transferred to a nursing home. What a difference! No longer was his hair matted and looking unwashed, his glasses were clean, he was carefully and neatly shaved and his teeth were clean and his nails were cut and no longer black most of the time. He was helped with his food at meal times and provided with a long, clean and attractive bib so no longer was he left for hours with food all down his front and on his sheets. His bed was always tidy and looking crisp. Those things he needed to reach, including his over-table, were always on his unparalysed side rather than always being rearranged on the 'wrong' side. When you asked one of the staff for something the appropriate person was quickly found and, whatever was needed, was done there and then.
What a contrast with Milford – so pleased he got out of there and escaped Milford's concept of personal care.
