"My GP doesn't seem to want to help me"

About: NHS Grampian

(as the patient),

I was extremely upset that upon visiting my local GP about a rather large 'stain like rash' on my left foot, that my GP never even got out of his chair to examine my foot.

He just leaned over, looked and then said "it comes to us all at our age, it is varicose veins". In fact it was not, it was the start of severe and extreme small nerve damage to both of my feet. When he admitted a week later that he had been wrong I asked him to refer me to a specialist, he refused.

I then went home and took a couple of colour photos of my feet and sent them to the Vascular Consultant at the hospital. Within a week he was sat on the floor thoroughly examining my feet. He then referred me to a large nerve specialist, who carried out tests, then told me to return to my GP and get him to refer me for an urgent referral to a small nerve specialist.

He never done this, he just referred me for a normal referral. Now I have two feet that are so severely damaged that they cannot be repaired. It is now only a matter of time before I will lose both my feet, all because of my GP. He never even gave me any medication to help me.

For 54 years I wore a size 9 med. shoe/boot - now I MUST wear a size 10 and a half EW Boot. Or I cannot walk at all.

Why does no one care anymore? I am totally unable to even gain a nurse. Especially as I have also been diagnosed with Delayed Onset of PTSD/Combat Stress. (From my service in the Army 60's and 70's).

I do not know what to do or which way to turn. I desperately need help but am finding out that this is impossible to get up here in NE Scotland.
