"Ageism in operation"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Anything else?

My 73 year old father was admitted after several falls. He had lung cancer treatment last yera so this could be nerve damage or could be a brain tumour. As he has now been waiting for a CT scan or indeed any form of investigation for 2 days (and counting) , he has had no treatment. Basically he is just lying in bed (bed blocking, as all old people do, of course). As it stands he has no idea what it is they are not treating him for.

Would this happen to a 20 year old? No, of course not. It seems that whoever is in charge of his case (no idea who that is, since they don't visit him) has decided that at his age he will not be getting treatment, without even bothering finding out what treatment is needed. I am disgusted and really afraid that he has been writen off when he could have had another 30 years.
