My Uncle was admitted after a fall on 8th Dec.

His leg was badly bruised but after 5 days he was discharged. He is 90, he lives alone in a first floor bedsit. This information was known to staff. He found it difficult to walk as his leg was very painful. Consequently he remained in his chair, only moving when necessary.

After 4 days he was re admitted to hospital for 3 weeks. 5 days later he was found on the floor at home and was admitted again. The ward tried to discharge him very quickly but were prevented by Social Services who needed to set up a care package for him. Yesterday, 17th Jan. my sister and I arrived to take him home. He was wearing hospital pajamas, no member of staff offered to dress him and by then his bed was already occupied by another patient, therefore the choice was to dress him in the middle of the ward. We would have done so but his trousers were missing. They could not be found. Attached to his belt is a chain with his keys, they were not found. His new slippers were also lost.

This is supposed to be the caring profession, I find it difficult to agree.
