"Excellent Facility as an alternative to A&E"

About: Orsett Hospital

Anything else?

My immediate and extended family have been treated at the Minor Injuries unit at Orsett Hospital many times over the past 10 years. We were all disappointed to lose the A&E since it opened the facilities have improved over time. I have never received anything but polite, efficient and effective service.

I was disappointed to read one of the reviews on here stating that it is "waste of money etc" and felt that I had to respond.

The department is what it is : a clinic for minor injuries. It is not there to deal with coughs colds - that's what the doctors is for.

I would totally recommend the clinic for all members of the family who are covered by their services. Note: it is worth ringing ahead to ensure that they can treat the injury as there are restrictions due to the size of the facility and you may be advised to attend Basildon A&E instead.

If we didn't have the facilities at Orsett the waiting lists and time at A&E at Basildon or Dartford would be much worse than it is now.

I am sorry for the time taken to respond to your review, it has only recently come to our attention that you have not received a response.

I have shared your positive feedback with our Integrated Care Director for Basildon & Brentwood and I would like to thank you again for your kind words.
