I was admitted to A & E in December 2012 with an Asthma attack.

A & E staff were efficient, reassuring and caring.

Upon transfer at 1:30 in the morning to EAU 4 the quality of care continued.

Two days in the tender clutches of all of the staff in that unit was a revelation!

I have experience of "care" in a large South London teaching hospital, this may send out a distress signal to those who know the area, and there is absolutely no comparison!

Congratulations, and thanks, in particular to the clinicians and the ward operatives, plus the overall management appears aware of, and connected to, the needs of patients.

My only criticism, and it is so slight I am almost, but not quite, tempted to accept it as an anomaly and dismiss it, is of the "Patient Life Style Questionnaire".

A two question survey? Do you smoke? Do you drink, if so how much & what?

Nothing about exercise, diet, salt intake, mental activity, BMI etc etc. The data from a well structured, broad survey of patients lifestyle, (even if we fibbed a bit) would, I suggest contribute invaluable information for management to act upon to anticipate future demand. Not to put too fine a point on it, many of both the staff and patients appeared over weight, some considerably so! A more pressing problem I'd suggest.
